NYX Sleep Disorder Centers
Research has shown that sleep is as vital to our life as the air we breathe and the food we eat. When we do not sleep well, all aspects of our life may be affected. We lack energy and feel sluggish. Our performance at tasks seems more difficult and often suffers. We struggle with memory function. The likelihood of injury due to an accident increases. Our overall health is placed at risk.
There are 84 different sleep disorders. A diagnosis can be obtained from a simple, painless sleep test. Many can be treated to help ensure better quality sleep. Some sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, can ultimately result in heart disease or stroke, if left untreated. However, research has shown that when apnea is treated early, further unhealthy effects on the cardiovascular and neurological systems can be avoided and any damages sometimes reversed.
Sleep Studies:
Sleep studies are a medical test to determine whether or not a patient has a sleep disorder. These are usually performed overnight in a comfortably appointed sleep suite. Highly trained and experienced sleep technologists, who have received specialized training in the field of sleep disorders, will administer this painless study and observe your body’s sleep patterns.
At NYX Sleep Disorder Centers we provide unparallel patient comfort and the highest quality diagnostic services in our State of the Art Sleep Centers. All of our Clinical Directors are Board Certified in Sleep Medicine, and our medical staff has received the highest training to make your sleep study experience as pleasant as possible.
At NYX sleep studies are available seven nights a week to accommodate busy schedules. Diagnostic results of the sleep study and recommendations are usually available to you and your caring physician within 80 hours, so appropriate treatments can start as soon as possible. We also do day studies to accommodate shift workers.
Sleep studies are covered by Medicare and most major insurance companies. We will be happy to assist with billing for services, but recommend that the patient checks his or her insurance companies policy.
